A Post-Pride Month Message From Our CEO — Open Access BPO

With the conclusion of Pride Month, I am proud of our participation in the spirit of the month: marches joined, focus discussions held among all our stakeholders, awareness and sensitivity sessions-in short, the range of activities designed to raise our awareness and applaud the vital quality of difference that is an essential part of our humanity.

Our Diversity goals extend beyond the confines of a particular month and are part of our everyday operations. We strive to add a broad range of backgrounds, identities, and perspectives to our mid-level and senior management team to foster inclusion and broaden our perspective on the world.

Open Access BPO’s efforts seek to address the daily challenges faced by the LBGTQIA+, the differently-abled, different ethnicities, and women.

These efforts strengthen us operationally as we build a more inclusive approach to genuine empathy in our work for clients executing back-office services, customer service, and content moderation in various languages from one of our seven delivery centers.

But operational gains are just the beginning; we see societal value in ensuring all employees feel safe being themselves at work-or wherever they find themselves. This is a fundamental tenet of our organization: we accord dignity and understanding to everyone in the Open Access BPO family irrespective of their abilities, ancestry, or gender identity.

The BPO industry has been a catalyst for many aspects of life in the Philippines. Its explosive growth paved the way for over a million well-paid jobs that contribute significantly to the local economy and give Filipinos a competitive alternative to offshore employment. Concerning diversity, we think the BPO industry should lead the way.

I’m proud to participate in this industry, and I’m incredibly proud of every member of the Open Access BPO family. They are a cross-section of the world’s tapestry of identities and expressions.

I hope we all carry Pride Month’s energy into our work throughout the year.
